Founder and Education Lead
“I did not set out to build an EdTech company. I set out to teach.”
Mohsin Munir has spent more than 16 years in international education, teaching in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, China, Bahrain and Spain across American, British, Australian and Canadian curricula. Working with students from more than 40 nationalities showed him that capable learners often struggle not because the material is beyond them, but because the available resources are too expensive, too generic or disconnected from how they actually learn.
His academic background spans business, language and education. He holds a BBA, an MBA, bachelor's degrees in English Literature, History and Education, and a Master's in Educational Leadership and Management. His research into the Hidden Curriculum—the unwritten norms, expectations and power structures that shape students' experiences—deepened his understanding that education is influenced not only by what appears in a syllabus, but also by the environment in which learning takes place.
Alongside his classroom work, Mohsin trained more than 300 teachers and advised schools, universities and institutions on curriculum design and benchmarking. He understands education from both the classroom and organisational sides: from planning lessons around academic schedules to helping institutions build stronger, more practical learning systems. In December 2025, he stepped away from formal teaching to focus fully on developing education products.
His work is also supported by a technical and design background. He qualified as an Oracle Certified Developer in 2007 and holds a diploma in Fashion and Textiles Design. Together, these disciplines shaped his interest in how things are made—whether a garment, a digital system or a lesson—and in the difference between something that merely exists and something that works well.
Today, Mohsin leads the product development side of Skyen Solutions, working closely with engineers, reviewing each design before it progresses and ensuring that every decision is considered from a teacher's perspective. He is also a doctoral candidate researching AI hallucination in education: why digital tools sometimes produce confident but incorrect answers, how this affects students and what it requires from the people building those tools. This research informs the company's approach to responsible product development.
Skyen Solutions grew from this combination of classroom experience, educational research and technical understanding. Its purpose is straightforward: to create affordable education toolsthat respect teachers' time, respond to how students actually learn and improve carefully through real-world use.
“I have a dream to revolutionise global learning by making quality education affordable for every individual on planet Earth.”
The dream that drives this work is not complicated. I wrote that on a cover photo once, and I mean it every day. Skyen Solutions is the long version of that sentence. We are building slowly and carefully because the people we are building for deserve tools that actually work—not tools that simply launch.
THE WORK BEHIND THE DREAM
Since 2018, he has been working towards one goal—and AI has helped it move faster: an online school that anyone can attend from anywhere, without cost standing in the way.
Studiely, Make My Lesson, Worksheeta and Linguatude are the first pieces of that school. Each is built the way a teacher builds for their own class because that is exactly who these products are for.
The plan is to create a single curriculum that carries a learner all the way to the door of a standardised exam, such as IGCSE, or a diploma from Australia, Canada or the United States—with no second course and no separate coaching fee. Learners study once, then sit the exam.
As Mohsin puts it:
“This is a marathon, not a sprint.”
Limited resources. Unlimited intent.
If you are a teacher overwhelmed by preparation, a student navigating a curriculum that was not designed with you in mind, or a parent looking for something genuinely worth the money—this is being built for you.
“Not as a product. As a promise.”
The Team Behind The Work
Skyen Solutions draws on a team of 15 specialists alongside its founder. The team is a mix of senior, mid-level and junior professionals. Every member holds a degree — our engineers are qualified software engineers, our designers hold bachelor's degrees in graphic design, and one of our engineers graduated as a university gold medallist in software engineering.
Seven functions. One product team.
Each function owns a different part of the work, but the team works together from idea to release.
Leadership
Mohsin Munir — Founder and Lead. Sets the direction and leads every project from idea to release.
Mobile Engineering
Android and iOS apps built from a single codebase, extended to web and desktop from the same build. Accounts and sign-in, payments, notifications, offline use, and everything a school app needs to survive a weak connection.
Web Engineering
School websites, portals and full web applications, front end and back end, including the database, the server and the maintenance after launch.
Creative Excellence
Led by Fatima Mahmood, Head of Creative Excellence. Her design work has been recognised internationally. Interface and experience design, brand identity, and all printed and digital material. Nothing moves to development until this department has signed it off.
Quality Engineering
A qualified software engineer tests every build against the agreed scope before release — functional and regression testing, across devices and browsers, plus performance and API testing.
Growth and Content
Search optimisation, app store optimisation and paid campaigns, plus original written content for websites, prospectuses and parent communication. English in-house, Arabic and Spanish through trusted writers.
Game Development
Unity developers building 2D and 3D games, including the educational and gamified learning we make for schools.
Built by people who understand both sides.
Classroom experience shapes the direction. Specialist teams turn that direction into products that can be designed, built, tested, launched and supported.
